Paul and I have a vision for a brewing company that transcends just being a product in a bar. We want to create cool experiences for people. It felt like a natural progression for us to create an events arm to ShinDigger. By putting on an event we control not just the beer, but the music, the aesthetic, the general vibe. People can get more of a feel for who we are and what we stand for.
The debut event was held Saturday 6th August. An all day block party in Green Quarter. The day could not have gone any better. I will remember it forever. Throughout the day over 500 people came through the doors. We were blessed with the sunshine. And what started out as chilled afternoon drinking session nicely evolved into a full-on party.
I think one of the vital elements of the event was the ethos of collaboration. At ShinDigger we believe rather than trying to perfect something new, partner with someone who owns that space! Whilst we took care of the beer side of things, Red Bank Co have developed a unique space for people to come and explore. Reform Radio brought the music and I think it's fair to say they smashed it out the park. 10 deejays banging out track after track all day long. We got street food traders Nasi Lemak and Pizza Pizza to provide food. And local illustrator Ben Lamb did the artwork. All these people coming together meant there was authenticity and quality from every angle.
We are currently scouting locations for a second event. And no doubt this collaborative element is something we will be taking forward.
Big shout out to everyone who came down.
